Consuming psyllium powder in the body brings in fibers that play a main role in regulating the digestive system, lipids, unsaturated fatty acids, and iridoides which are phytonutrients, have anti-inflammatory, cardio-protective, antioxidant, antimicrobial and hypoglycemic properties.

Psyllium, also known as Indian psyllium or ispaghula, is commonly used in phytotherapy. The polysaccharide mucilages it contains binds water and has the ability to increase its volume up to 15 times. The husks and powder obtained from the Indian psyllium seed are used as a source of fiber. They have no taste and fit well into many combinations, most often consumed in blended juices.

You can also use them to make bread and various bakery products. In addition to Western phytotherapy, psyllium is often used in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine.

Directions for use: Mix 1-3 teaspoons of psyllium with yogurt, water or juice and consume immediately because it quickly turns into a jelly-like mass. It is recommended to immediately drink an additional glass of water and increase fluid intake throughout the day.

If you are using psyllium for bread mixtures, mix the husks directly into the dough to obtain a softer consistency. It is particularly suitable for gluten-free blends.
