Taheebo is actually the indigenous name for the inner bark of the Lapacho tree. The bark is the medicinal part of the tree that is used for tea.

Also known as Pau d’Arco, Taheebo tea comes from the inner bark of the tree Tabebuia avellanedae or Tabebuia impetiginosa, which is typically found in South American rainforests and can grow up to 90 meters tall. The Tabebuia genus of trees has deep roots and is resistant to poor and extreme weather conditions. The active ingredient is obtained by stripping the inner bark from wild and cultivated trees. The benefits of Taheebo tea have been known for thousands of years by the Incas and tribes in the South American rainforest. The descendants of the ancient Incas called it “sacred tree” due to its multiple effects. Taheebo tea is used for its positive effects on health. The beneficial properties of Taheebo are due to certain active plant compounds, or phytochemicals. Preparation method: Put one to two large spoonfuls of tea in one liter of boiling or distilled water and let it boil for 5 minutes. Then cook for another 20 minutes on low heat. Let it stand for 15 minutes, covered, and then strain. Drink multiple times a day. Warning: the tea should not come into contact with metal (spoon, strainer, container), so it should be prepared exclusively in glass or plastic dishes.

Ingredients: 100% Taheebo, inner bark of the tree (Lapacho cortex)

Preparation method: In 1 liter of boiled or distilled water, put 2 teaspoons of tea (4.0 g) and simmer for 5 minutes on high heat. Then simmer for an additional 20 minutes on low heat. Allow to steep for 15 minutes covered, then strain. Drink multiple times a day. Do not come into contact with metal, prepare only in glass and heat-resistant dishes.

Storage method: Store in a dry and dark place at temperatures up to 25°C.
