Oolong tea, also known as Wu long by the Chinese, is a type of semi-fermented tea. Oolong tea comes from the same plant as green and black tea. The largest producers of oolong tea are China and Taiwan.

Oolong tea can be considered one of the most beneficial teas. In terms of fermentation, it is between green and black tea. It has less caffeine than black tea, but more than green tea. It can be greenish or brownish in color depending on the fermentation level.

Its characteristics are more similar to green tea than black tea. The most expensive oolong tea is called Silver Tips Imperial Tea, and it takes 200 kilograms of leaves to make 50 kilograms of Silver Tips Imperial tea. The pickers rarely gather more than that amount. Customers usually pay the highest price for leaves harvested between mid-March and May, when they are lighter and have a more pronounced floral scent.

Oolong tea is an excellent way to hydrate the body, it is low-calorie and has almost the same effect as water. Like green and white tea, oolong tea is not made in boiling water but at around 80 degrees.

Oolong tea should be stored in a dry place in an airtight container or even in the refrigerator. It is recommended to refrigerate, which improves the taste of the tea and extends its shelf life.

Ingredients: 100% Oolong tea, leaf (Camellia sinensis, folium)

Preparation method: Pour 1 teaspoon of tea with 2 dcl of hot water (80-90⁰C) and leave it covered for 2-3 minutes. Then strain and sweeten to taste. Drink in moderation.

Storage method: Keep in a dry and dark place at a temperature of 25⁰C.
