Sage is one of the most beloved and durable plants, and sage tea can be a useful addition to the diet.
Sage tea, also known as sage tea, is made from the leaves of the calendula plant. Its Latin name, Salvia officinalis, comes from the word ‘salvare,’ which means to save or heal.
Salvia officinalis, or medicinal calendula, grows on many Dalmatian islands and is highly valued for the special composition of its essential oil. It can also be grown in continental parts, not just by the sea.
It is easiest to recognize by its rough, gray-green leaves and pink/purple flowers. Calendula is a shrubby plant and often grows wide, and can grow up to 70 cm in height at most. Calendula naturally grows in the Mediterranean region, but is grown all over the world.
The ancient Egyptians used calendula for mummification and embalming, while the ancient Romans had a special ceremony for its harvest. Sage contains many active plant compounds, such as camphor, borneol, bornyl acetate, camphene, and 1,8-cineole.
